St Francis Church

Originally constructed in 1503 by Franciscan friars, it?s one of the oldest Catholic churches outside Europe. The edifice that stands here today was once the burial ground of Adventurer Vasco da Gama who was buried on this spot 14 years before his remains were taken to Lisbon, one can still witness his tombstone in the church.

?Synagogue

Destroyed by the Portuguese and rebuilt again, the spectacular beauty of the Synagogue makes it stand out. It has a graceful clock tower, ornate gold pulpit, intricate hand-painted willow-pattern floor tiles and a magnificently illuminated chandelier and colored glass lamps.

The Backwaters

Take a languid ride on the thatched? Kerala houseboats across the shimmering backwaters. These floating homes ake you past the brackish rivers, canals and lagoons. Travel past the cantilevered Chinese fishing nets and sail past the miniature villages, lighthouses and piers jutting into the sea.

Bekal Beach and? Fort

A beautiful stretch of? sandy beach, thronging with people all through during the day and evening. The presence of the Bekal Fort on makes it an unusual beach. This brick Fort sits flamboyantly on Bekal?s rocky headland and houses a small Hindu temple and lots of? goats.

Hill Palace Museum

Formerly the residence of the Kochi royal family and is an impressive 49-building palace complex, Hill Palace Museum I situated at Tripunithura. Housing a collection of Royal families its beauty is adorned by 9th-century paintings, sculptures, old coins and temple models.? This heritage place will be worth visiting.

If you are an art lover do not miss to visit the Lila Studio which is known for show casing work of by co-director, painter and sculptor Gayatri Gamuz. Take a look around inside this place and get inspired.

Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary

A serene place, a home to some rare families of birds and the beasts. You can hire a private guide in the sanctuary and can have refreshments at the canteen just inside its? gate.
